Well, i guess this Yingxin serves as a lesson to all. The photos have already been submitted, and hopefully no one comes to bug me for more... (cross fingers). The guwens understand that we are no professionals, but it is in our pride to match their standards. Let's learn from our mistakes!

For the younger generation of photogs, I guess for many it's the first time you are covering such a long event. You may lack the endurance and state of mind to stay focussed throughout. Those who shot for all the 3 days, I hope you find it a valuable experience. If you intend to do event/wedding photography in the future, this is what you will face: long working hours + no chair to seat + no food + high expectations from clients. Everyone (even the pros) make mistakes, failing to capture "that" moment. What differentiates them is their ability to correct mistakes as they shoot. Most importantly, they do not let that mistake affect their performance for the rest of the day. Take it as a training.

As leaders, we made a lot of mistakes too. There were a lot of things on hand, worrying about newbies' enthusiasm + giving talks + planning activities to kill time + photos for slideshow + photos for zaobao/zbComma + ensure young shooters know what to do. Huiching, I understand it's not easy to shoulder all these alone, and I appreciate all the effort you put in. Sorry if my previous post may have offended you. Although photos for press may be lacking, I owe it to you for bringing out the enthusiasm in the freshies.

This yingxin exposes a flaw in the way we work - while individually we may be competent to take assignments, we fail to orchestrate and tackle one as a group. Perhaps this is because we are all too used to shooting as individuals. We will work on this in the future.

For the freshies, (if you are reading this), you have done well this Yingxin. The level of enthusiasm shown has been very encouraging. Of course SYD/TXY is not all about having fun. In the weeks to come, look forward to more training and experience sharing.

To err is Human, to debug, devine. Let us improve on our mistakes and make the next big event a better one =)
